Skincare shouldn’t feel like a chore. It should feel alive; bright, bold, and brimming with energy. That’s the heart of Nalia. More than clean skincare, it’s a beauty brand that refuses to sit still. Rooted in Cambodian tradition but with that fresh, Australian ease, this is a beauty brand that’s vibrant, full of life, and completely its own.
In a beauty world awash with sameness, standing out takes more than pretty packaging. It takes real storytelling, rich identity, and a brand voice that actually speaks to people. We partnered with Nalia to bring that energy to the surface. A brand that honours its rich heritage while feeling fresh, modern, and unapologetically fun. A fusion of culture and high performance, designed to turn every routine into a moment worth savouring. Nalia doesn’t just sit quietly on the shelf. It invites you in, lifts you up, and brings joy to the surface.
Nalia is skincare without the baggage: No overcomplication, no unnecessary steps, just glow-getting formulas packed with the best of nature and science.
Born from a deep reverence of Cambodian tradition and ingredients that have been passed down for generations, Nalia draws inspiration from the lush landscapes of the founder’s homeland, but is designed with that fresh, Australian ease. Infused with rich botanicals, it honours heritage while fitting seamlessly into modern life, bringing a new rhythm to beauty, one that feels effortless but never ordinary.
Nalia is about celebrating what’s uniquely yours—your skin, your story, your way. It’s vibrant, joyful, and made to move with you. Ancient wisdom meets cutting-edge science in formulas that work, while the brand itself feels like a breath of fresh air in beauty. Potent yet playful, Nalia is no fluff, no fuss, just seriously good skincare, bottled.
The beauty category is full of brands that play it safe—minimalist, clinical, stripped of personality. But where was the beauty that felt alive? That celebrated culture, heritage, and joy in equal measure? We set out to create what was missing: A brand that wasn’t just clean and effective, but rich in story and unmistakably fun.
We began by leaning into Nalia’s Cambodian influence, elevating it from inspiration to the brand’s heartbeat. Our team knew that zeroing in on this heritage, rather than smoothing it out to fit the “clean beauty” mould, would be the key to creating something truly original. We weren’t interested in another skincare brand that whispered. We wanted Nalia to have a pulse.
That meant crafting a brand world as vibrant as the ingredients themselves. A brand that strips back the noise and makes beauty fun again. One that blends centuries-old wisdom with cutting-edge science, but never takes itself too seriously.
‘Celebrate, don’t complicate’ was the driving ethos for every decision we made; from the storytelling to the colour palette, the typography to the tone of voice. The result is a brand that feels warm, joyful, and deeply connected to its roots, while still feeling fresh, effortless, and high-performance.
This is beauty with a story worth telling. And most importantly? It’s skincare that makes you smile.
In shaping the brand strategy, identity, packaging, and campaign, we infused every detail with movement, joy, and the spirit of celebration that defines Nalia. Every step was an immersive dive into culture, crafting a beauty experience that feels vibrant, dynamic, and undeniably alive.
Nalia isn’t the kind of brand that fades into the background. It’s got energy. It’s got presence. Every element from the colours to the textures, the movement to the messaging was designed to feel bright, bold, and unmistakably alive.
The colour palette is a direct reflection of Cambodia’s natural beauty, weaving together warm golds, deep earth tones, and vivid hues that nod to sun-drenched landscapes, intricate temples, and lush greenery. Patterns and textures inspired by traditional Cambodian motifs add layers of richness, balancing heritage with a fresh, modern edge.
Typography plays its part in shaping Nalia’s voice. An elegant serif brings softness and confidence, while a bold sans-serif keeps the brand grounded in modernity. Together, they create a cadence that feels effortless, elevated, and full of personality.
Imagery is light, playful, and bursting with movement. Relaxed Australian influences shine through in radiant, spontaneous moments that capture beauty as something joyful and alive. Packaging turns every product into an experience, with gold foils, embossed details, and a striking silhouette that makes every unboxing feel like a celebration. Thoughtfully designed and impossible to overlook, it transforms a daily skincare ritual into something that feels special, because beauty should never feel like an afterthought.
Nalia is a celebration of beauty that’s alive, expressive, and deeply connected to culture. Every touchpoint, from the packaging to the campaign, pulses with the energy of Cambodian heritage and Australian ease, creating a brand that feels as good as it looks.
This is beauty that doesn’t sit quietly on the shelf. It’s designed to be experienced. To bring joy to the ritual, confidence to the routine, and a little bit of glow to the everyday. With a brand built on culture, formulas that deliver and a story that speaks, Nalia makes skincare feel like something worth celebrating.
Effortless yet intentional, radiant yet refined. This is Nalia. Fresh, fun, and full of life.
“We have worked alongside the Smack Bang team while rebranding and relaunching our brand, Nalia. People often say a good agency feels like family. Smack Bang to us is a competitive sister – we push each other to do better, work harder, and get the best results. We would never have got to the absolutely incredible end result we have achieved with Nalia, hadn’t it been for Tess and her team.
They tick all the operational boxes – fast, efficient, good attention to detail etc etc. But where we really found amazingness, was in their ability to help us stretch our thinking around what was possible, think outside the category, and to find the true heart and soul inside our brand. We are incredibly excited to launch our new Nalia to the world, and a lot of that is thanks to our big sis.”
